Ocean City Jeep Week is Aug. 27-30, 2015.

“It’s a Jeep thing,” say many Jeeples to people who don’t own a Jeep.

The Jeeples, or Jeep people, are an extremely tight-knit community, but you don’t have to be a Jeep owner to enjoy Ocean City’s Jeep Week says Daina Behe, director of marketing for the event.

“Jeep Week is so unique because it’s truly a family-oriented event,” she said. “The Jeep community gathers together to play in the mud and sand for a long weekend and it’s always a fun time.”

Jeep Week runs from Aug. 27-30 and is the sixth annual installment of the event. With everything going on, Behe says that it’s a quite a sight to behold.

Jeep Jam is one part of Jeep Week that is sure to amaze audiences. Located at the old Tyson’s Plant in Berlin behind C.C. Customs, Jeeps will drive through a mud pit and overcome rock and log obstacles – a testament to the durability and the skillful production that goes into making Jeep vehicles.

Over at Jeep Week Headquarters, the Roland E. Powell Convention Center, there will be monster truck rides, a Kids’ Zone and celebrity meet-and-greets featuring Tom Bostic of Discovery Channel’s “Junkyard Empire” and Flyin’ Ryan Disharoon and the Saigon Shaker and Tony Pellegrino of GenRight Racing.

“This is our largest Jeep Week event to date with over 1,000 Jeeps registered,” Behe said. “It’s one big party to celebrate the ending of the summer season in the midst of going back to school and back to the daily grind.”

One of the more captivating events of Jeep Week is the Beach Crawl at 7 a.m. as a few hundred Jeeps parade down the beach on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

“Jeep Week provides the community with a fun-filled weekend for the entire family,” Behe said. “It’s a nice little getaway weekend.”
