A Salisbury woman had a sizzling Saturday night after state police say she slapped her fiance across the face with a frying pan full of oil.

The victim sustained a loose front tooth as a result of the attack, according to Wicomico County District Court filings. Charging documents did not indicate whether or not the oil inside the frying pan was hot.

Kiesha Latasha Lee

Kiesha Latasha Lee, 32, of the 500 block of Wicomico Street, was charged in district court with numerous felonies — including first-degree assault, which carries up to 25 years in prison. Lee was later released on a $50,000 bond from the county detention center.

The frying pan assault took place Saturday evening in the 800 block of Seminole Boulevard, according to Lee's charging papers, after she and her fiancee had gotten into a drunken argument about his daughter. During the argument, state police say Lee grabbed a frying pan and hit her future husband across the left side of his face, soaking his clothing and skin in the oil. The fight moved out into the front yard, at which point Lee charged the victim, forcing him to push her to the ground, lower court records show.

After taking down the initial report, a state trooper provided Lee with information regarding how to obtain a protective order, the papers stated.

Lee's charging papers made no mention of a wedding date.

In addition to first-degree assault, Lee was also charged with second-degree assault, reckless endangerment and use of a dangerous weapon with intent to injure. The Maryland Case Judiciary Search, which any citizen can access on the Internet to look up criminal, civil and other legal matters, shows Lee had been charged in the past with assault, however the charges were dropped.
