UPDATE: Latest flooding updates for Friday, Sept. 30
Delmarva woke on Thursday to find waterlogged streets after a night of heavy rain. Here's how the weather is affecting life on Delmarva currently:
Maryland
- Many area schools were closed or had delays .
- Wicomico County Schools will dismiss two hours early.
- Salisbury University's bookstore was closed due to flooding in the Commons building.
- Hundreds lost power in Wicomico County.
- A flash flood watch is in effect for the Lower Shore through Thursday night. A coastal flood advisory is in effect in Maryland and on Virginia's Eastern Shore.
- Northbound Route 113 is closed at Timmons Road in Worcester County as of 7:30 a.m. due to high water.
- The Red Cross emergency shelter has been relocated to Wicomico Presbyterian Church at 129 Broad St. in Salisbury. For more information, contact the Red Cross at 410-749-5331.
- Some Shore Transit routes were being detoured or delayed due to the weather. Call 443-260-2300 for more information.
- North Park Drive near Beglin is closed to through traffic because the road has collapsed.

- Burton Street between Cypress and Lake Streets has washed out.
- East Willlims Street just off Route 13 is closed because a sinkhole is developing.
- Buildings at Canal Woods were evacuated due to flooding.

Delaware
- A flash flood warning was in effect in Sussex County until 11:15 a.m. A flash flood watch remain in effect through Thursday night.
- Several roads in Sussex County were closed.
- Roads are slick with small puddles causing some hydroplaning down Route 54 and Coastal Highway from Fenwick Island to Bethany Beach.

- Marsh lands along Route 54 are brimming with water and most of the canal docks in the neighborhoods along Route 54 have been submerged.
- St. Louis Avenue in Ocean City on the bayside has a few inches of water on it.
Virginia
- Flooding caused Accomack County Public Schools to close Thursday
- Flooding is slowing traffic on Chincoteague Island
