Police: Deaf man kidnapped, sexually assaulted

A deaf man was sexually assaulted March 4 by a woman who carjacked and robbed him, according to Salisbury Police.

At the time, the man was leaving the Christian Shelter, located at 334 Barclay St., when the woman forced her way into his 1992 Ford Taurus and kept her hand inside her purse as if she  had a weapon, police said.

Tina Marie Graham, 42, of the 300 block of Park Heights Avenue in Salisbury, was charged with kidnapping, carjacking, first-degree sex offense, perverted practice, false imprisonment and other offenses, police said.

At 9:15 a.m. March 4, records show the victim left the shelter and was attempting to find the Vocational Rehabilitation Center, located at 116 W. Main St. in Salisbury. The woman entered the victim's car in the 600 block of Baker Street and became angry when the man did not understand her, according to charging documents.

Through hand motions and by grabbing the wheel, Graham directed the man to her address on Park Heights Avenue, police said. When they arrived, Graham grabbed the victim's car keys, cellphone and wallet before running inside the home, the documents state.

Police said the victim followed Graham inside in an attempt to retrieve his belongings. Graham threw his car keys into a back bedroom inside the home, records show. While the victim searched for his keys, Graham stripped down to her bra and panties, according to Salisbury Police. She then jumped onto his back and forced him onto the bed, charging documents state.

Graham then attempted to commit sexual acts on the man, according to police.

At one point during the assault, police said the victim "was so repulsed by this that he started to vomit."

Graham eventually  gave the man back his belongings once he found his keys, police said. The man left and drove back the shelter, where he alerted authorities. An examination at Peninsula Regional Medical Center further corroborated the victim's account, police noted.

Online court records show Graham has charges in Wicomico County dating to the mid-1990s, mostly misdemeanors such as theft, assault and possession of controlled substances.

Graham was being held at Wicomico County Detention Center without bond. court records show.
